Ready to pass your road test? Read below for 3 top tips to help you pass your road test.👊

1. Do not use friends and relatives

Oftentimes, student drivers will resort to friends and relatives because they think it's a cheaper way to learn how to drive. Most of the times it's not.

You see, your friends and relatives maybe able to teach you how to drive but they may not know how to teach you to drive in a safe manner.

For example, many license drivers switch lanes and rarely ever check their blind spots. Do this on your road test and not only will you acquire penalty points but you could get into a serious accident.

Acquire more than 30 penalty points on your road test and you will fail.

So your friend or relative may be able to teach you how to drive but oftentimes, it's not in a safe manner.

The New York State Department Of Motor Vehicle officier will not issue you a driver's license if you are unable to demonstrate that you are a safe, courteous, defensive driver.

Last year, more than 50% of road test applicants failed their road test in New York State. Sad to say, some of those failures knew how to drive.

Last week, I had one of those students who knew how to drive but couldn't pass her road test. She actually failed her road test 4 times.

Imagine the cost and frustration of failing 4 times. Eventually she came to us, learned how to drive safely and passed her road test.

Not only is it costly and time consuming when you learn how to drive with a friend or relative, it is also very dangerous.

You see, all driving school cars are required by law to have dual breaks. Cars used by friends and relatives are not equipped with dual breaks.

Should you loose control your friend or relative is not able to stop you resulting in hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars in property damage.

Worst yet, you or someone could suffer serious injury or even lost of life.

2.Select a good reputable driving school

Not all driving schools are alike. Some are very good and some are very bad.

A good driving school may cost a bit more but they will definitely help you save money in end by helping you pass on your first try.

Choose the wrong school and you may spend more money than you bargain for. How do you select a good school? Ask your friends and relatives for recommendations or read reviews online.

Select three of the top schools. Take one lesson with each school and pick the one that you are most comfortable with.

3. Select a good driving instructor

Not all driving instructors are created alike. Some are in it to really help their students and others are in it just for the money.

Your very first lesson with an instructor will let you know if you are comfortable with that instructor.

If you like the school but not the instructor, you can request another instructor. Want a free driving lesson so you can check out our school and our driving instructors?
